Outdoors brand Filson gets a leg into denim
American brand Filson, long known for its outdoor clothing, accessories and luggage, is launching a line of jeans this month.
The Rail-Splitter jeans will be sewn in the US with American and Italian denim, while a special-edition selvedge version will be constructed from Japanese selvedge denim. The latter, according to the company, will be “made on vintage shuttle looms, giving it a tight, durable weave and a clean edge”.
The next to be released will be the cotton denim Bullbuck double-front jean, a durable work jean reinforced with double-layer leg-fronts and double-layer-reinforced rear pockets.
“Filson Denim is the latest chapter in a legacy that spans over a century of outfitting customers for the most demanding conditions,” the company said in announcing the collection.
