Denim exports to the US: Bangladesh claims top spot

Bangladesh came top of the list of exporters of denim to the US for the second consecutive year in 2021.

According to figures made public by the country’s office for textiles and apparel (OTEXA), which is part of the department of commerce, Bangladesh exported denim garments worth almost $800 million last year.

OTEXA said this outstripped the value of denim exports to the US of China and Mexico last year. Bangladesh’s 2021 exports also registered an increase of more than 40% compared to the figure for 2020.
