New eco-aware offering from Amazon features jeans
This March, e-commerce giant Amazon has introduced a new line of sustainable products under the Amazon Aware label. The offering includes apparel as well as home and beauty products.

The Seattle-based company said these “everyday essentials” are “thoughtfully designed and made from materials such as recycled polyester, organic cotton, and bio-based ingredients”.

The entire range of products carries third party certification, such as Organic Content Standard 100 and Global Recycle Standard, both managed by US-based Textile Exchange or the HIGG Index Materials Seal. They are furthermore said to be climate neutral, as the company has “accounted for or neutralised” emissions through carbon credits. Climate Partner, a company based in Germany, has been tasked with calculating the carbon footprint of each product using the GHG protocol.

Amazon Aware is available to customers located in North America and Europe and is part of the company’s moves to become net-zero carbon by 2040, which it says is 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement.
