Zurich-based Haelixa has developed a patented marker whose presence can be detected at any stage of the supply chain and that is said to provide forensic evidence of the origin of a raw material. It is Oekotex 100 compliant and certified Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). Rieter, based in Winterthur and a respected name in short-staple fibre processing, has developed a device that automatically applies the marker, in liquid form, during spinning.
“Traceability creates added value as it enables trust and credibility by providing reliable product information,” commented Haelixa CEO and Co-founder Michela Puddu.
Rico Randegger, after sales manager for Rieter, confirmed that there is “increasing demand from our customers to provide more transparency along the supply chain. With this solution, Rieter offers customers an automated traceability function as part of their systems.”
