A spin-off from Turkish wovens supplier Taypa, Eurotay joined the list of Denim PV exhibitors in Germany in a bid to expand its local customer base, the company’s sales and marketing manager, Zeynep Iskender, revealed to Inside Denim at the show. As the manufacturer told us last year, the location of Eurotay’s Serbian denim facility was chosen for its proximity to the European Union, in line with its ambitions to supply higher end European brands and offer them shorter, more flexible lead and transportation times.
Ms Iskender added that all services take place under a single roof at the Kraljevo site, which is located only eight hours away from its fabric mill partner in Turkey. Eurotay makes more than two million pairs of jeans per year in Serbia, she said. Its Algerian factory, vertically integrated from spinning to garment finishing and currently under construction, will be able to produce 30 million articles annually.
Grouped into two separate themes, Nostalgia and #StillPossible, Eurotay’s latest collection takes its cues from the lighter washes of the 1980s and 90s, also exploring frayed edges and fringed hems to inspire a vintage look and vibe. Various levels of stretch and rigidity are offered.
The more forward-looking #StillPossible range, on the other hand, has been made using “more conscious” materials and by incorporating digital-first environmental impact measurement tools and lifecycle assessments via a process which prioritised durability, traceability and recyclability, according to the company.
General manager, Murat Soylu, commented: “As nearshoring and digitalisation continue to play a bigger role, we feel that modern times call for reliable players that can guarantee top quality and competitiveness. Eurotay can offer game-changing innovation [when it comes to this].”
