Textile chemicals company Archroma has said a new effluent treatment plant at its production facility in Jamshoro in Pakistan is saving 15,000 cubic-metres of water per month.

Located on the banks of the Indus river, the Jamshoro plant is now operating a zero-discharge policy and 80% of the water it consumes is now recycled.

The company has said it believes it is making an important contribution to preserving the Indus and the aquatic and community life that have depended on the river for millennia.
