Dedicated digital zone to debut at Intertextile Shanghai
Events group Messe Frankfurt and its partners in China have announced plans for the autumn edition of Intertextile Shanghai, which will take place from August 27-29.
They have said innovative solutions for sourcing, manufacturing, and retailing textiles and apparel will be on show will be on show across the three days at the National Exhibition and Convention Center.
For the first time, there will be a Digital Solutions Zone at the event to provide visitors with specific information about additive manufacturing, data analytics, digital product passports, digital sustainability solutions, generative artificial intelligence, personalised production, production technologies, virtual reality, wearable technologies and more.
More familiar segments of the show include Beyond Denim, where mills and brands will showcase fabrics and design ideas for denim apparel.
Messe Frankfurt’s general manager in Hong Kong, Wilmet Shea, said: “We are only beginning to understand the changes new technology will bring to the textile sector, but it is clear there is huge potential in design, personalisation, production, sustainability, traceability, and more.”
There were nearly 4,000 exhibitors at last autumn’s Intertextile Shanghai, attracting 95,000 visitors from 117 countries.
