New funding from fashion group for Sewbot maker

13/08/2025

Softwear Automation, the maker of autonomous sewing robots, has announced the successful close of a B1 series funding round which has brought in $20 million.

A lead investor in this round is Invest FWD, the investment arm of Danish apparel group Bestseller. This move will allow Bestseller’s head of finance, Thomas Børglum Jensen, to join Softwear Automation’s board.

The company’s Sewbot platform is said to combine advanced robotics, machine vision and AI/ML to create a scalable, localised and sustainable solution for apparel manufacturing. The company is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and was spun out of Georgia Tech in 2007.
