Solar energy plant now operational at Turkish denim factory

Renewable energy provider Göktekin Enerji has announced that a solar energy plant it has installed at Atlas Denim’s plant in Adana in southern Turkey is now operational.
Atlas has invested heavily in the Adana factory and has a production target of making 50 million square-metres of denim there per year.
As part of the solar energy project, Göktekin Enerji installed more than 19,000 solar panels at the site. The denim manufacturer has calculated that using solar energy can help it lower its greenhouse gas emissions by more than 700 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per year.
