National park tie-up for Marseille denim brand
Marseille-based denim brand Kaporal has announced a new, two-year partnership with the Calanques National Park, a site that covers 85 square-kilometres of coastal land between Marseille, Cassis and La Ciotat, and a further 500 square-kilometres of marine area.
One of the priorities of the partnership will be the conservation of the park’s area of Posidonia aquatic plants, home to more than 400 species of algae and aquatic creatures. The partners have described it as being a key eco-system for the Mediterranean basin, but one that is under threat from impacts of tourism.
Among the activities that will come out of the initiative will be litter-picks along the coast that Kaporal employees will take part in.
The denim brand’s chief executive, Laurence Paganini, said her aim was for the brand to provide clothing for “the generations that want to change the world”.
