Women’s workwear brand puts special denim in ‘toughest possible’ pants

Fabric developer Cordura and Pakistan-based denim mill Artistic Milliners have joined forces to help specialist women’s workwear brand Dovetail produce a new range of workpants.
The textile partners worked together to develop a fabric they have called Supercharged Noir Cordura Denim, and Oregon-based Dovetail has used the material to make what it calls “a tough, sustainable work pant, just like the women who wear them”.
Founded in 2018, Dovetail makes “all-season, all-reason utility apparel that stands up to the job”. It has said that its use of the fabric from Artistic Milliners and Cordura in this new collection is its response to its “most hardcore customers”, who asked for the toughest possible pant. There were requests, too, for a non-fading black pant from women who work in jobs such as roadies at concerts or as technicians in theatres.
Dovetail says the new trousers are up to four times stronger than regular cotton denim and have a comfy stretch.
