Improved livelihoods are Better Cotton’s aim in Africa
Cotton sustainability initiative Better Cotton has launched a new programme in Côte d’Ivoire and has committed to supporting 200,000 cotton farmers there in the next five years.

Under the programme, farmers across the country will receive training and resources to help them produce more sustainable cotton.

President of its local partner, the Professional Association of Cotton Companies of Côte d’Ivoire (APROCOT-CI), Jean-François Touré, the primary focus would be on improving the livelihoods of smallholder cotton farmers.

He added: “By integrating Better Cotton’s sustainable farming practices and APROCOT-CI’s local expertise, we aim to enhance cotton yields, reduce environmental impact, and improve social and economic outcomes for farmers in the region.”
