Founder of denim washing, finishing and reprocessing company LaundRe, Salli Deighton, has thanked colleagues and friends for their positive response to a tree-planting appeal.

Ms Deighton launched the appeal in December in honour of the late Miguel Sánchez, Barcelona-based head of technology at the Kingpins denim event, who died at the start of the month.

She explained that planting trees would be a good way to pay a lasting tribute to Mr Sánchez. She said: “He made a huge impact and educated us all on building a better planet.” 

By the turn of the year, more than 200 trees had been planted in response to the appeal.
