More than 50 exhibitors took part in the first Denimsandjeans Egypt exhibition, which took place in Cairo on February 2 and 3.

It was organised by the Denimsandjeans teams that already has exhibitions in India, Vietnam and Japan.

It said it had chosen to set up the new event in Egypt because textile-sector skills and investment are “flowing into the country”.

It pointed out that recent figures put the value of Egypt’s textile and garment exports at $4 billion per year, which indicates recent growth of 20% year on year. There are projections that this can grow exponentially.
