Sharabati: Foam coatings and overdyes for autumn-winter 26

Egypt-headquartered denim mill Sharabati presented novelties including a new foam-dyed range, overdyed fabrics, brushed fabrics and dyed wefts as part of its autumn-winter 2026 collection.
A transparent foam coating creates brightness, a smooth and shiny hand-feel and adds a sophisticated look to the fabric, while a coloured foam coating, paired with heavy washes, creates a heritage and vintage appeal. Using foam reduces the amount of water needed compared with standard coatings, explained Sharabati’s product design manager, Stephano Dotto.
Various blends had the foam coating applied, including a blend of 60% Tencel and 40% cotton, which creates drapey but shiny denims.
Sharabati’s Warm-Up collection for the season includes brushed fabrics which give a soft feel against the skin but also provide warmth, offering benefits in winter collections, and speak to workwear and heritage designs. A blend of regular cotton and Giza 94 cotton can also be brushed but maintains softness and brightness, added Mr Dotto.
“We also played a lot with new overdyes,” he said. “We applied brown, blue and olive on different kinds of indigo, with different concentrations, resulting in a vintage, tinted look.
“In terms of colour, we also created a look where we don’t overdye the fabric, but apply the black on the weft only. The benefit is that when it is washed, the effect is very visible in the highs/lows but is more natural.”
He also highlighted various prints: pigment and reactive dyes, various patterns and metallic coatings.
Discussing the increasing potential of Egypt as a sourcing destination – buoyed by new factory openings and the recent Denimsandjeans show there – Mr Dotto suggested that the more supply chain partners that locate there, the better for Sharabati. “Egypt is booming, we are happy. We are seeing the benefit of this movement, as it helps us to collaborate with different suppliers, garment makers and partners that might work for the same brands. Plus, the transportation price is very low, so it’s a win-win.”
