Award in support of US manufacturing & sourcing
The Industrial Sewing and Innovation Center (ISAIC) has announced the winners of its second annual awards championing domestic textile and apparel manufacturing. Founded in 2018, the Detroit based non-profit offers support in industry 4.0 innovation and training for individuals and companies.

Amy Williams, CEO of Citizens of Humanity, has been voted this year’s ‘champion’ by ISAIC for her efforts to develop a Regenerative Cotton Program and use “fashion as a force for social impact, ethical labour, and community empowerment”.

Seed2Shirt founder Tameka Peoples will be picking up the Manufacturer of the Year award as one of the very few (or only) Black woman-owned cotton merchant companies in the United States.

ISAIC’s Innovator of the year is going to FCTRY Lab co-founder Omar Bailey. The Los Angeles-based sneaker lab has invested in extensive 3D design, 3D printing and knit-making equipment and can even manufacture small runs on site.

Finally, Francesca ‘Frankie’ Tiseo will be taking home the Alumni of the Year award. She left a job in the service industry to follow an ISAIC training programme.

The official award ceremony will take place on April 24, 2025 at The Madison Loft Auditorium.

“At ISAIC, we believe that the future of fashion must be built on ethical, responsible and forward-thinking domestic manufacturing. ISAIC Honors celebrate the pioneers who are not only innovating in textiles and apparel but also reshaping the industry to be more sustainable and equitable,” commented ISAIC CEO Jennifer Guarino.

ISAIC is supported by local brands and retailers as well as the City of Detroit, Design Core Detroit, Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation, Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s Pure Michigan Business Connect and the Urban Manufacturing Alliance.
