SFI deepens ties to Guatemala

Karachi-headquartered supplier Artistic Milliners’ LA design and wash hub, Star Fades International (SFI), has become a strategic partner of fellow vertical producer Denimville, owned by American Denimatrix in Guatemala.

Artistic Milliners announced its purchase of SFI back in January 2021. It primarily serves as a sourcing and product development nucleus, presenting local brands and retailers with nearshoring opportunities.

SFI opened its first office in the Central American country’s capital, Guatemala City, in June. The new agreement with Denimville makes for deeper roots into the subcontinent, enabling SFI customers to manufacture “in one of the largest garment facilities in Guatemala”.

“We are establishing relationships with the best factories in the region [for] speed, flexibility and ease of doing business, while maintaining high-calibre standards for production and sustainability,” said vice-president of Central American sourcing at SFI, Alejandro Arias.

“Our customers can count on localised expertise and the latest technology to help usher their products quickly through the production pipeline,” added its executive vice-president for global sales and strategy, Sergio Turbay, citing SFI’s teams in the US, Mexico and Central America.
