Help from Hyosung for brands to embrace sustainability at their own pace

16/04/2025

Fibre developer Hyosung presented what it called “customised denim textile solutions” at Kingpins on April 16 and 17.
It said it would use the Amsterdam event to present a number of new stretch solutions for denim that it is adding to its offering.

Additions include regen Bio+ and regen Bio Max spandex, which Hyosung said it had made with higher amounts of renewable content than previous versions contain.

A 100% recycled regen spandex, made from industrial waste and certified under the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), was also on show at Kingpins, as were Creora Slip Free spandex and Creora 3D Max spandex.

Hyosung presents Creora Slip Free as a fibre that reduces waste while offering improved seam slippage. Its claim for Creora 3D Max is that it has high levels of stretch and recovery, but with a small enough amount of spandex content to make garment recycling possible. It bases this claim on the findings of the Jeans Redesign Project, an initiative that campaign group the Ellen MacArthur Foundation launched in 2019.

“Brands take various paths toward sustainability,” said Hyosung global denim marketing director, Simon Hong, in the build-up to the Amsterdam event. “Providing customised solutions that meet their specific requirements is essential.”
