21/07/2025
The New-York edition of Kingpins will open its doors July 23 and 24 at Pier 36/Basketball city. Some 80 exhibitors will be showing their most recent developments in denim.

Some of the highlights to see at the event are the two workshops organized by Panther Denim and HMS, one on each day. Sharabati will be presenting its new non-denim range Twillis. Kipas has told Inside Denim it will be focusing on two ranges: Soft & Smart which combines sheen and super soft hands, and Contra Colours, a new pretreatment phase that lower the environmental impact of jeans processing, a process developed with Archroma and Jeanologia. Rimaks has teamed up with DNM Denim to present Nova by Rimaks, a four-step finishing process designed to avoid the use of harmful chemicals in jeans-making. Eastman has announced that it has booked a booth to introduce Naia Renew, an acetate yarn made from recycled content, to the denim industry.

The programme of talks includes a trend presentation by Ana Paula Alves (the first day at 11.30). Two panel talks are planned for the first day, one on innovation moderated by Tricia Carey (at 1 pm), and one covering the topic of near-shoring (at 2 pm) with Steve Maggard of Cone Denim and Melanie Balasa-Flottman of Artistic Milliners.
