Vidalia’s looms find new home in Georgia

24/10/2025
The looms operated by Vidalia Mills, which has since shuttered, have been acquired by
Mount Vernon Mills (MVM) and KaKa Cotton, a cotton textile company based in NYC. The historical shuttle looms will remain in the United States, as MVM is installing the 45 Draper X3 looms (which Vidalia had acquired from Cone’s White Oak mill) and another 45 Picanol President looms, in its facility located in Trion, Georgia.

The selvedge weaving looms will be restored and are expected to begin production in early 2026.

“This partnership with KaKa Cotton allows us to blend heritage with innovation, and we’re excited about the opportunities it brings for our community, our customers, and the broader U.S. textile industry. This is more than a business decision — it’s a commitment to American manufacturing and the enduring spirit of American textile excellence,” commented Bill Rogers, president of Mount Vernon Mills.
