Deal complete as Authentic Brands confirms majority stake in Guess

Specialist brand development and licensing platform Authentic Brands has announced the completion of its move to acquire a majority stake in fashion brand Guess.

As announced previously, the deal means Authentic now owns a 51% stake in the brand that launched 45 years ago. Existing Guess shareholders, Maurice Marciano, Paul Marciano, Nicolai Marciano and Carlos Alberini and some of their affiliates collectively own the other 49%.

The brand’s chief executive, Carlos Alberini, said the deal represented a “new chapter” for Guess.
