Levi’s teams recognised for turning “adversity into advantage”
The South Asia and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) teams for Levi’s have been given the company’s “Extra Mile Award” for turning “adversity into advantage”.
Fifteen cross-functional teams were recognised for delivering projects that helped mitigate the challenges posed by covid-19. These included digital transformation and launching a store on wheels.
Sanjeev Mohanty, the India-based managing director for the regions being recognised, said the actions helped enable “future readiness of our company to emerge stronger” from covid-19.
“It’s heartening to see young managers and leaders, all of 27-35 years, demonstrating steely resolve, incredible resilience and delivering mission critical projects during the last five months,” he said. “I have always believed that we should never let a crisis go to waste. We swear by our ‘20 mile march’ philosophy, which has been the key to our stellar success.”
The teams were presented with the award in a virtual town hall event. Mr Mohanty said teams across countries participated to cheer for recipients.
