Bluezone cancels May edition

Following last December’s rescheduling, the organisers of Munich-based denim trade show Bluezone have elected to cancel May’s edition, originally planned to take place from May 3 through 4.

The current “very tight” show calendar was given as the reason.

Managing director of sister show Munich Fabric Start, Sebastian Klinder, commented: “The short-notice announcement of a further and thus third denim trade show within 20 days and within a radius of 1,000 kilometres has caused great unrest and a lack of understanding from the industry and also from us.

“Since we do not want to get involved in a battle of show dates, in the interest of the entire textile industry and our exhibitors we have decided to avoid the oversupply of shows and to focus all our positive energy on our core date at the end of August.”

Instead, the next Bluezone will go ahead from August 30 through 31, coinciding with Fabric Start (due to be held between August 30 and September 1), both of which are set to take place in-person in the Bavarian capital.
