The Cologne-based company has partnered with reverse.supply, a start-up based in Berlin that will be managing the logistics.
On average, people wear their new clothes only seven to ten times before throwing them away, the company points out, citing the Ellen MacArthur Foundation report, “A new textile economy: Redesigning Fashion’s future”.
The brand’s customers will be able to send back their unwanted items free of charge. Damaged clothing will be recycled and those that are in good condition will be put up of for purchase on the brand’s Resell Second Hand Shop.
This new platform is a logical step, it says, after having created circular T-shirts, circular denims, a “trash to fash” take-back system and an Armedangels repair guide.
“We need to radically rethink fashion. If we don’t, we’ll go down perfectly styled,” said Martin Höfeler, Armedangels founder and CEO.
