Salsa launches repairs and alterations

Portuguese denim brand Salsa, headquartered in Braga, has launched what it has called the Infinity project, a repairs and alterations initiative designed to extend the life cycle of articles previously purchased from the brand at any location.

Customers are invited to participate by bringing clean garments into any Salsa-owned and operated store for assessment and, if appropriate, forwarding onto the atelier where tweaks and mends will take place.

Options, for which “the possibilities are infinite”, the company states on its website, include mending tears, adding patches and limited size alterations (up or down by one size). If customers are not a member of its Star loyalty programme, they will be charged between €5 and €20 for each service. Otherwise, the fee is 1,000 Salsa “stars”.

All repairs and alterations will be completed within a maximum of 30 days, Salsa said.

If a customer prefers to rather leave their old denim at a Salsa store for reuse or recycling, articles will first be evaluated and then either repaired ahead of donation or upcycled into “something new”, the brand added. For every article left at the store, participants will receive 200 “stars”.

In addition to its e-commerce offering, Salsa currently operates stores throughout Europe and the Middle East, as well as in Angola.
