Deadstock denim makes the cut for Marques’Almeida and 7 for All Mankind

British fashion label Marques’Almeida and US denim brand 7 for All Mankind (7FAM) recently revealed the fruits of their second collaboration, titled ReM’Ade.
Creative director of the London-based brand, Marta Marques, told reporters that the collection, made entirely from surplus fabrics and old stock (or deadstock), represented a strong start to the label’s “fight” for and journey towards sustainability.
Offering denim articles priced between $189 and $300, along with a non-denim t-shirt and hoodie, the Portuguese design duo behind Marques’Almeida reimagined the “incredible” material (more easily sourced by Delta Galil Industries-owned 7FAM) in patchwork form, as a tribute to the variety of the US brand’s heritage, as Ms Marques described it.
7FAM, which unveiled its “Sustainable for All Mankind” platform last year, is reportedly committed to ensuring that over 80% of its products will incorporate “sustainable” properties by 2023.
