Circulose links arms with CPHFW

Regenerated textile fibre brand Circulose, made by Swedish firm Renewcell from cotton-rich textile and apparel waste such as discarded jeans, has announced a five-season partnership with Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW).
The tie-up was officially announced ahead of the event’s spring-summer 2023 edition, which will run from August 9 to 12.
This upcoming round of shows will thus mark the inauguration of CPHFW’s NewTalent support scheme, backed by Circulose, which will culminate in a dedicated spring-summer edition showroom each year.
“CPHFW NewTalent will introduce our global audience to three Nordic visionaries and provide an encompassing programme to build their brand on an international scale,” explained CPHFW chief executive, Cecilie Thorsmark. “Through the vital partnership of Circulose as overarching official partner of CPHFW NewTalent, we are aligning with a holistic partner whose values feel perfectly synonymous with our own.”
The first three beneficiaries of the NewTalent support scheme were revealed to be local Danish labels PLN and A Roege Hove, plus Finnish brand Latimmier.
PLN, especially, is known for its use of denim. It presented a denim- and oilskin-heavy debut collection, first teased last year, including several 100% cotton made-in-Denmark denim articles and two made-to-order denim bags, each crafted from recycled fabrics.
From 2023, CPHFW will demand mandatory sustainability criteria is met by official programme participants. The twice-yearly event said that this would make it the first fashion organisation to implement such standards, and that it expected increased international engagement as a result.
