29/09/2022
Pakistani apparel manufacturer Interloop has announced plans to double the capacity of its denim clothing making facility, located in the capital of Punjab, from 500,000 pieces monthly to 1 million by 2023, as it declared in its annual report for FY 2022.

The company diversified its activities to make denims in late 2019 in a LEED Platinum-certified facility.

In its financial results for 2022, the company achieved net sales of 91 billion Pakistani rupees, or €405 million, nearly doubling its revenues from the previous year. While its hosiery business remains its main activity, denim was also a key driver of sales, with volumes up 17.6% YoY, according to research firm Topline Research.

As part of its stated goal to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) by 25% by 2026, Interloop has added 7.8MW of solar capacity this past year. It is also in the process of switching steam generation to biomass instead of conventional fossil fuels.
