Kontoor appoints chief supply chain officer

Kontoor Brands, the parent company behind denim labels Lee and Wrangler, has named Ezio Garciamendez (pictured) to the role of senior vice-president, chief supply chain officer.
Mr Garciamendez, who holds a Master of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, most recently oversaw online wellness shopping club Melaleuca’s supply chain. He served as global operations senior vice-president at the company from 2018.
Previously, the senior executive spent 17 years at Procter & Gamble, inclusive of a decade based in Cincinnati, four years in Venezuela and three years in Puerto Rico. Fluent in both English and Spanish, he obtained an earlier master’s degree in manufacturing systems and a bachelor’s in mechanical and electrical engineering from Mexico’s Tecnológico de Monterrey.
Mr Garciamendez will report to Greensboro-based Kontoor’s executive vice-president, co-chief operating officer and global brand president for Wrangler, Tom Waldron. His responsibilities, effective November 1, will centre on supply chain strategy and management from planning through logistics, customer service and master data.
“Ezio’s history of delivering operational excellence and process improvements across end-to-end global supply chain operations, combined with his background in international manufacturing and engineering, will fuel Kontoor’s competitive advantage in both our owned manufacturing and strategic sourcing model and make him a natural fit for our organisation,” Mr Waldron commented.
