The entrepreneurial German couple is the owner of three fashion companies. They acquired Bavarian fashion retail company Dollinger in 2012, took over Austrian knitwear label Stapf from insolvency in 2017, and added traditional clothing maker H. Moser in 2019, since rebranded Feli & Hans.
Kings of Indigo will be their first foray into denim. A new Dutch B.V. was formed on December 21, 2022. A Linkedin post announcing the news mentions that the original team will mostly remain in place, headed by former product manager Mariska Stolwijk who is the new company’s new general manager. The brand’s headquarters will remain in Amsterdam
Brand founder Tony Tonnaer has welcomed the new owners. “Kathrin and Sebastian Proft will continue our concept and I wish them well. I still firmly believe in the potential of this fair planet friendly brand,” he stated, also on Linkedin, but will not be staying on.
