French ecolabel Patine features Candiani’s Coreva

Founded by Charlotte Dereux in 2017, Patine has quietly developed a denim-based collection that abides by strict sustainability standards.
Brands committed to circularity face a tricky issue with elastane, once the fibre is blended in a fabric it is not yet easily recyclable, but rigid jeans are not an easy sell. The decision to choose a fabric made by Italian mill Candiani combining organic cotton (GOTS-certified) with its natural rubber-based Coreva yarn addresses the matter of offering a plant-based alternative to petrochemical elastanes along with a measure of biodegradability, even compostability.
This fabric is featured in the brand’s new Donna collection, made in Portugal, which will be released shortly.
