Ho Chi Minh City event will celebrate fast growth in Vietnam
At a press conference to mark the official launch of the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies on August 28, Vietrade director-general Vu Ba Phu presented the new event, due to launch in Ho Chi Minh City this coming February, as “a prime destination for all key players in the textile and garment industry in Asia”.
At the press conference, which took place in Shanghai at Intertextile Apparel, Mr Phu emphasised how Vietnam had ranked third among the world’s top garment exporters last year, with improved living standards and its population of more than 100 million people also leading to fast growth in the footwear industry, especially.
He further added that he hoped VIATT would “supplement” Chinese suppliers’ sourcing moving forward and described the Sino-Vietnamese relationship as “perfect”.
