Keith Haring NFT turned into $40 back patch

An auction of digital paintings created by US artist Keith Haring (1958-1990), currently underway on Christie’s platform, has inspired a physical back patch ideal for denims, currently being sold for $39.99 via vintage fashion-driven wearables studio Mntge.

Something of a triptych-like effort from New York saleroom Christie’s, The Haring Studio and Mntge, co-founded by designer Sean Wotherspoon last year, the design is based on one of five originals the artist created using a 1980s-era Commodore Amiga computer. Embedded with near-field communication technology, each comes with digital proof of ownership for would-be collectors.

The five digital drawings, meanwhile, are being auctioned as NFTs (a first for work by Mr Haring) by Christie’s through September 20, part of its online ‘Keith Haring: Pixel Pioneer’ sale.
