Partners plan to expand use of ‘eco-advanced black dyeing’

Denim manufacturer Artistic Milliners has worked with dye specialist Archroma to develop what the companies have called “eco-advanced sulfur black dyeing”.
Based on Archroma’s Diresul Evolution Black dyestuff, the partners claim to have achieved a variety of washdown effects and a reduced environmental impact.
According to Archroma, Diresul Evolution Black delivers “eye-catching aesthetics, especially on dark black shades” while consuming less water and energy, and producing fewer carbon emissions during dye synthesis.
Following the launch of a capsule collection called Evo Black, based on this technology, at Kingpins Amsterdam in October, Artistic Milliners said it had received “a strong response from global brands”.
It added that it is now working closely with Archroma’s research and innovation team to expand its use of the new colouration system.
