Sales up, profits down for Archroma Pakistan in Q1
Chemicals producer Archroma Pakistan has told how net sales were up 28.3%, while profits tumbled to the tune of 32.5% year on year during the first quarter ended December 31.
Net sales over the period reached approximately $25.7 million.
Its reporting for the financial year ended June 30 told a similar tale of higher sales, but lower profits for the preceding 12-month period.
The business supplies speciality chemicals for the pretreatment, dyeing, printing and finishing of textiles. It cited the increased cost of sales and finance (up from $16 million to $20.1 million and from $350,000 to $1.2 million, respectively), plus higher marketing and distribution expenses (from $2.3 million to $3 million), as among the reasons for this.
