Denimsandjeans Japan kicks off in Tokyo

The second Japanese edition of trade fair Denimsandjeans, ‘Sakura denim symphony’, has begun in Tokyo.

Denim experts Adriano Goldschmied, Meidea’s Lucia Rosin and Dr Yuzi Honzawa, known as Dr Denim, all presented during the first day of the show, March 26. Proceedings also included a conversation between Another Design Studio’s Stefano Aldighieri and Bobby Tohma from Amhot Holdings (Ideablue).

Talks scheduled for day two include a speech on the topic of biologically reduced liquid indigo by AMA Herbal co-founder and chief executive, Yawer Ali Shah, plus Kato brand founder Hiroshi Kato’s thoughts about changes in denim design from the 90s through today.

Technology provider Yilmak’s sales and marketing general manager, Furkan Civelek, is likewise expected to speak on sustainable denim washing. Co-founder and chief executive at domestic “smart” jeanswear developer Hap, Moto Suzuki, will discuss his own company’s technologies.

Denimsandjeans will next travel to India (May 15-16) and Vietnam (June 26-27).
