Barrie’s cashmere denims are back
Historical Scottish cashmere house Barrie relaunched its Denim capsule for the city’s Fashion Week. Possibly its buzziest items, these high luxury faux denim pieces are hand-made in the company’s factory in Hawick, Scotland. The 64% cashmere / 36%cotton knitwear displays authentic denim details, from topstitching and metal buttons down to telltale signs of wear.

Barrie’s was founded in 1903 and was acquired in 2012 by its long-standing client Chanel, as one of its Métiers d’Art companies. A self-named collection was launched in 2014, seeking to bridge technical innovation with heritage high-end cashmere. Augustin Dol-Maillot, who worked for both Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, at Chanel, is the brand’s artistic director.

The collection is sold in a pop-up shop located rue Cambon, the same street as the famed maison.
