Loro Piana debuts Japan-woven cashmere denim
Italian vertical luxury company Loro Piana, a noble fibres specialist brand majority owned by French group LVMH since 2013, has released a 41% cashmere blend of Japanese selvedge denim as part of its new CashDenim womenswear collection.

The pre-dyed 59% cotton denim is first woven with a weft of undyed cashmere fibre on traditional shuttle looms by Okayama- and Hiroshima-based manufacturers, who reportedly take around one full day to weave 50 metres of the “exclusive” fabric. It is then sent to Italy for treatment.

Differentiated by its “kiss of cashmere that softens the feeling against the skin”, according to Loro Piana, prices for CashDenim articles range from $1,350 for the five-pocket Madley trouser to $3,650 for the cashmere-lined Cyrius jacket.
