New owner for HNST
Denim eco-brand HNST has been acquired by fellow Belgian fashion group Claes Retail, which operates three brands JBC, CKS and Mayerline. Financial details were not disclosed.

“We’ve been investing in making our business more sustainable for years,” commented Bart Claes, CEO of the family-owned company. It is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation and Circletex, a Belgian circular textile initiative. It has set up takeback systems and has created second hand clothing sections in JBC stores and ecommerce platform, and at Mayerline. Clothing at CKS can also be rented. HNST thus makes a good match for the company.

Revenues for Claes Retail Group (CRG) were €238.9 million in 2023.
