Cityscapes inspire Tonello’s natural dye capsule
Italian machinery producer Tonello has introduced Urban Flora, a natural dye capsule collection powered by Wake, its dyeing technology.
Peels, husks, berries and flowers are carefully dried, infused, and applied to garments, without the use of chemical additives.
The collection also incorporates earth tones: mineral pigments historically used in medieval frescoes and Renaissance masterpieces.
While retaining its botanical origins, the Urban Flora collection expresses a richer palette, colours “shaped by the city’s raw surfaces, shifting light, and subtle imperfections”.
The company teamed up with Cone Denim to show a selection of 10 fabrics including 100% cotton, cotton/Tencel and Tencel Modal blends, recycled PIW cotton, and a range of ecru bases, all presented in their raw, natural state to emphasize material integrity. The inclusion of the Pride Rainbow Selvage adds a meaningful layer, celebrating both aesthetics and ethics.
