The Lycra Company makes key executive appointments

Global fibre producer The Lycra Company has announced key leadership changes, promoting longtime executive Robert Johnston to chief operating officer and naming industry veteran Doug Kelliher executive vice-president for product.

Robert Johnston, who has been with The Lycra Company and its predecessor companies for 35 years, was formerly executive vice-president for operations. In his expanded position, he will oversee product management strategy for fibres, fabrics, and garments as well as R&D talent, laboratory resources and pilot production initiatives to accelerate innovation across the company’s varied product portfolio.

Doug Kelliher joins the senior leadership team after one year with the company, taking charge of product management strategy for fibres, fabrics, and garments. He has more than 30 years of experience with major brands including Timberland, Velcro, and Polartec.
