Itema reinforces commitment to made in Italy
The first stone of a new manufacturing site for Itema has been laid in Ponte Nossa, Bergamo. The future weaving loom factory is located on the site of a former cotton spinning mill (Cotonificio Cantoni), which closed in 2004. In 2022, Itema purchased the site which is not far from its own headquarters in Colzate and located in the same Seriana Valley.

The new factory is expected to open in 2027 and will be equipped with the latest technologies.

Maurizio Radici, president of the board of directors declared: “We are proud to continue our textile journey in Seriana Valley, the cradle of our history, with a project in which vision, innovation and sustainability converge. Our roots are here. This new manufacturing hub represents our investment in a cutting-edge and prosperous future for our territory”. The heirs of Gianni Radici (son of the founder Pietro Radici) own 60% of the company’s shares, while the remaining are in the hands of the Arizzi and Torri families.

At ITMA Asia + CITME 2025 in Singapore later this month, Itema will be introducing a new airjet weaving machine, the Galileo-AX.

Considering the strategic importance of denim production across Asia Pacific, the company will also showcase its R9500EVOdenim, a rapier weaving machine for denim. It is equipped with the company’s iSAVER eco device that eliminates waste selvedge on the left-hand side of the fabric.
