Isko invests in state-of-the-art weaving machines
Turkey-based denim mill Isko, a division of Sanko Group, has announced that it has expanded its partnership with Itema, a maker of rapier, air jet and projectile weaving machines.

Isko has chosen Itema’s iSaver rapier machines, a model developed specifically for denim makers. The energy-efficient machines do not generate waste selvedge on the left side of the fabric, thereby reducing the waste that typically results from the weft yarn by 50%.

This investment is part another step in Isko’s journey towards ‘responsible innovation’ which includes an ongoing project with the Hong Kong Research centre for textiles, HKRITA to fine-tune and scale up the ‘Green Machine’, a technology that separates polyester from cotton in polycotton blend fabrics.

“In these innovations, we see great potential to advance our sustainable agenda,” commented Isko CEO Fatih Konukoglu.
