Ralph Lauren eliminates PP

Fashion group Ralph Lauren has eliminated potassium permanganate in its denim and non-denim production, as announced in its 2025 Global Citizenship & Sustainability Report.

Other highlights from fiscal year 2025 include meeting at least one of the company’s sustainable material criteria in 98% of units, offering Polo denim styles made from 100% recycled cotton, and achieving a 34% reduction in absolute emissions from the company’s FY20 baseline.

During the year, it also launched a denim recycling programme in North America in collaboration with Cotton Incorporated’s Blue Jeans Go Green

“Guided by Ralph’s vision of timelessness, our citizenship and sustainability work is fundamentally about supporting the longevity of our business and the resilience of the people and resources that enable it,” said Katie Ioanilli, chief global impact and communications officer. “Over the last three years, we’ve sharpened our focus, deepened our partnerships and evolved how we work to further embed our approach and progress into our business and culture.”

The company will evolve its approach to climate, retiring its 2040 net-zero goal in favour of setting rolling five-year greenhouse gas reduction milestones.
