With changes underway at Rudolf, and the closing of its denim-focused 1922 hub, Alberto de Conti, who headed the German chemical company’s fashion division, has moved on to join Officina39. Rudolf’s new management team views textile and denim applications as less central to its business, Mr de Conti told Inside Denim. Officina39 managing director Andrea Venier added that he was very happy to have the experienced executive join his team in Biella. “We share the same vision,” he noted.

“This is a new chapter for me and for Officina39 as well,” said Mr de Conti. The company intends to investigate new market opportunities and reinforce its core strengths. “In the future, we will focus on three strategic pillars,” he told us. Creativity is the core DNA of the company, and this will continue to drive innovation at Officina39 to continue to be a source of inspiration for brands. Environmental sustainability remains essential, but Mr de Conti said that it is no longer market differentiator. “We will continue to offer responsible solutions, but we will also strive to surprise with our solutions,” he said. Finally, a key driver of future developments is efficiency. This was a key word voiced by many exhibitors at PV Denim, as well as by show manager Fabio Adami Della Val. “We need to find ways to optimise processes at all levels, especially as the cost of energy increases,” said Mr de Conti. This can take many forms, he noted, from reducing 20-step processes down to 15 or even ten, reducing drying times or manual labour. “Added efficiency can be very valuable to our customers,” he said.
