New CEO at unspun

Arne Arens, whose C-suite career includes The North Face and Boardriders, is the new CEO of apparel technology innovator unspun starting this month. 

“Unspun’s 3D weaving technology transforms apparel production from slow, carbon-intensive, and wasteful to localised, on-demand and zero waste. Having spent 20+ years on the brand side, I know firsthand how significant the upside can be — higher margins, lower working capital, and a dramatically reduced carbon footprint,” declared Mr Arens in a social media post. 

The company has developed a novel 3D weaving technology, Vega, that produces a semi-finished product from yarn in minutes. It is currently being piloted by major retailers, including Walmart and Decathlon. 

Walden Lam, one of the founders of unspun, was CEO until late 2024, and is now president.
