Specialist Delhi-based yarn producer LNJ Denim has said it believes Indian textile firms will receive an increase in orders from western brands in coming seasons because companies are seeking to source from partners outside China.

Its chief operating officer, Piyush Chandara, said in recent comments on social media that European fashion companies, including Germany’s Marc O’Polo, have been in the news in India because it has placed “huge” orders with local textile producers that, in previous years, it would have put in the hands of partners in China.

Industry leaders in India have said orders from international customers could increase by as much as 25% in the months ahead.
