Timberland shares CSR info and sets bold 2030 goals
Timberland has released its Q2 2020 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) performance data, showing that 59% of the cotton used for its apparel and accessories was either organic, US-origin or sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative.
The report also showed that the company sourced from 383 factories during that period, all of which “met or exceeded” the company’s social, labour and environmental expectations. Timberland discloses what factories it uses on a quarterly basis and has said it is among the first in the industry to share the names and locations of supply chain partners.
The report follows the announcement of significant goals for the next decade. By 2030, the company said, 100% of its products will be designed for circularity (“ultimately achieving Zero Waste”) and 100% of its natural materials will come from sources using regenerative agriculture practices to help “move beyond Net Zero to Net Positive”.
