Head of Mango’s denim purchasing team (womenswear), Marta Otero Barallat, has recently confirmed that 100% of the Spanish brand’s womenswear denim has been produced using “sustainable cotton” throughout 2020.

Not only this, but “at least half” of Mango’s women's denim range has been laundered using an “eco-wash” process in 2020. The brand estimates it has consequently reduced its consumption by “millions of litres of water and chemicals”.

Ms Otero Barallat added that Mango is “constantly searching for sustainable production and fabric alternatives.”

Last month, the brand said its womenswear denim offer is currently “totally sustainable”, while its men’s denim is “98% sustainable”.
