Jeanologia and Anish India Exports achieve ‘world first’

After working together for 21 years, specialist Spanish textile finishing technology provider Jeanologia and Gurugram, India-based garment manufacturer Anish India Exports (AIE) have celebrated a “world first” with the recent establishment of the latter company’s “100% sustainable” AIE Laundry 5.Zero base in its home country.

The eco-efficient operation is reportedly the first of its kind to be entirely led by women.

AIE Laundry 5.Zero is pursuing its sustainable goals on an industrial scale through the use of five of Jeanologia’s technologies: laser, e-Flow, G2 Ozone, Colorboz and H2 Zero, the company’s first water recycling system.

Jeanologia said that the combination of these technologies eliminates harmful processes, guarantees zero discharges and reduces total water use in the finishing process by 85%.

Marketing manager at the Spanish enterprise, Carmen Silla, commented: “Women are rising up in India and this project embraces these challenges. We are convinced that small actions can make big changes and a sustainable garment plant led by women in India is the best way to start.”

AIE concurred that the new centre would help empower Indian women, which is part of its wider diversity in leadership strategy.
